Starting around 5 miles south of Swindon (SN4 0DR) and covering the last 16 miles of the Ridgeway (western end) and back again, making for a 32 mile run. This is the last 16 miles of the TRA's Ridgeway Challenge and is similar to the last part of the Race to the Stones 100K. Even on wet days, this part of the Ridgeway is almost entirely mud-free. The start point will be near Foxhill - we have tentative agreement to park in the car-park of The Burj (SN4 0DR), a fantastic Indian Restaurant right
Following a successful running of the first 24 miles of the NDW we will be running the next 26 miles from the Stepping Stones car park in Dorking to Knockholt (26 miles). Plenty of ups and downs and mud guaranteed but the pace will be gentle.
If you've been ramping up the miles a little too enthusiastically, your legs will appreciate this little 20-mile refresher. Hopefully, the weather will allow our eyes to appreciate the stunning views and, with 3,300' ascent, your lungs will benefit too! If you've got time, stick around for an early pub meal afterwards.
Start and finish will be at the Cricketers Harvester Pub car park opposite the tram stop. Plenty of parking spaces around if you are traveling by car. There are few village shops close to the route for refills and snacks. The run is an out-and-back route which can be muddy with steep climbs and beautiful views.
Every year we run the London Marathon in reverse before the start of the race. We meet at 4am at Big Ben and typically head around the course in about 4 hours though if more are there different pace groups would be easy to manage. There are mile markers every mile (counting down) and towards the end some of the water tables are up and even hand you water :) At the end you are in Greenwich and can chat to people who are terrified that they are about to run a marathon
As it's name suggests we rock up at Box Hill at 8pm and then run the picnic marathon course as many times as we can until sunrise. If you don't know what the picnic marathon is I suggest you google before committing to this
Run, walk, or pub crawl from Newquay to Whitesand Bay, (nr St Davids) over 4 days. Following the coastal path. Run the whole adventure or just sections, its going to be an Ultra Touring running party. Taking in the views, stopping in the villages & putting in some "Time on feet" for the summer racing season. Fri 9th May : Newquay to Mwnt - 18 miles Sat 10th May : Mwnt to Newport - 25 miles Pwll Deri - 19 miles Mon 12th May : Pwll Deri to Whitesands - 23 miles
Once again, your legs will appreciate this little 20-mile refresher rerun. More stunning views, more of that lovely 3,300' ascent, more of everything!
The Copenhagen Marathon in reverse before the start of the race. We meet at 4am at Islands Brygge and will trot around the course in about 4 hours There should be markers every km (counting down) and towards the end some of the water tables will no doubt be up & you can get some water. :-) Apart from that, we will have to have our own food/drink or buy along the route.
